Practicing interviews is a big thing in film making, as there are a thousand aspects to pay attention to: the right light, the background, the sound, the way questions are set and answered...
But why going through so much trouble?...
Doris Weiser: "I am a researcher in the field of lusophone and hispanic literatures and cultures at the Centre for Comparative Studies at the University of Lisbon. When I am doing interviews with writers, I usually publish them as written texts (transcriptions) either in academic or journalistic style. However, the outreach of these publications remains mostly limited to an academic public. I believe short videos and documentary films can help to reach a much wider audience and to promote both the work of the authors and my own research results."
